Next week, after a six week futebol hiatus, will be the kick off the 2009 Gauchão, the state tournament. As such, I went to the Central de Atendimento ao Sócio (customer service office) at Inter’s stadium today to pay my monthly dues and buy a ticket for the game. Bearing in mind that I am one of 80,000 Sócios (members), you can imagine my surprise and delight when I walked in and one of the dozen agents, Renata, exclaimed, “Oi! Jenny!” Not only did she remember me by name but, as tickets haven’t been released for sale yet, she offered to call me personally when they are. I cordially told her there was no need, since the stadium won’t likely sell out. Still, wow!
